The consistent use of synth is done masterfully and Power, Corruption & Lies was the album that put them on the map only a few years after the demise of Joy Division. The 2008 re-release of the album contains the original 1983 version on disc one and the on disc two you get the Collector's Edition, containing the seminal English classic "Blue Monday".

Addictive catchy lyrics from a heavily Nirvana influenced duo, Local H (not quite as poppy as Nirvana's Nevermind, instead they carry their grunge aesthetic on their sleeves) brings the grittiness of the late 1980s and early 1990s grunge bands.
